Mind Body Connection
The connection between mental and physical health has been pondered for centuries. Up until the 1800s, it was believed by most that emotions were linked to disease. Patients were often advised to visit spas or seaside resorts when they were ill. As new pharmaceutical treatments emerged, gradually the connection between emotions and health largely became ignored. Recently the acknowledgement of the connection between stress and physical health has re-emerged. Today, it is widely accepted that there is a powerful mind-body connection through which emotional, mental, social, spiritual, and behavioral factors can directly affect our physical health.
We offer guidance on techniques and tools that can be utilized to help you harness the power of the mind-body connection. Some of these include Emotional Freedom Workshops, specific breathing exercises, music for meditation, relaxation and sound healing. As explained by Steve Halpern, an award winning artist, composer and producer, “sound healing is an umbrella term that focuses on the intentional use of sound and music to support the natural healing energies of the “human instrument.” Relaxation and the reduction of stress is now proven to be a fundamental building block to health, healing and well-being and a healthy lifestyle in general.
