Passionate about natural health and wellness since her late teens, Colleen’s most profound inspiration for working in the field comes from being a mom. The majority of her education as well as the research she has pursued over the past 20+ years has largely been inspired by her desire to provide the best natural healthcare and nutritional care for her family. This desire has led her to in depth studies in whole food nutrition principles as well as the study of optimal brain function and its affect on overall health and well-being.
Colleen is a Clinical Nutrition Counselor with a Masters Degree in Applied Clinical Nutrition as well as Advanced Certification in QEEG and Neurofeeback. She has a strong commitment to ongoing education and attends continuing education courses regularly.
Her philosophy on food is simple. Eat Real Food! (see Real Food) The less done to it, the better. Support Local Farmers! (see Local Farmers) The closer to home your food comes from, the fresher it will be… and perhaps most importantly, always consider the source. Where did it come from and what has been done to it before it came to you? Go organic whenever possible… pesticides and fungicides are not health promoters, in fact many of them are known neurotoxins. (see Facts About Pesticides) Read labels… if you can’t pronounce it, don’t eat it! Learn about genetically modified foods and then avoid them as much as possible! (see Facts About GMOs).
Following these guidelines will not only have a positive impact on your individual health, but also the health of our environment!
